Music
Of course we have a great DJ but we have also prepared some surprises for you. One of our star guests is Hirayasu, a former Village People band member.
Hirayasu started out playing blues and R&B at the bars around the American bases in Okinawa, and took up the sanshin in his early twenties. He joined Shoukichi Kina’s band Champluse and played on the Bloodline album, amongst others. He began a solo career recording with members of Soul Flower Union and the E.A.V. in the 1990s.
He has performed in over 40 countries as a solo performer and with his group Pot-Pourri; Hirayasu is very versatile, sings in many languages and customises each program. He has sung in many languages, including English, Spanish, French, Latin, German, Italian, Russian, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese and Hebrew.
Hirayasu is frequently touring through Australian Clubs and Theatres working as a guest entertainer in various guises with multiple bands and orchestras. His Solo Cabaret act includes a combination of pieces from all of his feature shows, and some uniquely crafted numbers specific to the show / audience at hand.
